العالي الجابر

The One that nothing happens in His Dominion except that which He willed.

الشرح والدلالة · Explanation

الجبار هو العالي على خلقه، الذي يجبر الكسير ويصلح ما فسد، ويقهر الجبابرة.

Al-Jabbar means 'The Compeller' or 'The Irresistible'. It signifies that Allah is the One who compels all creation to obey His will. He is the Supreme Ruler whose decree is irresistible and whose power is absolute. He mends what is broken, completes what is deficient, and enforces His command over all things. He is the One who restores and sets right all affairs. His will is supreme, and nothing in the heavens or on earth can oppose it. Quran References: 'He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security, the Guardian, the Almighty, the Compeller (Al-Jabbar)' (59:23). 'Indeed, He is the Compeller over His servants' (6:18). Spiritual Significance: Al-Jabbar has two aspects: His power compels all creation to submit, and His mercy mends and heals the broken hearts. He is the One who sets right all that is wrong. Benefit: Reciting Al-Jabbar strengthens one's heart against oppression, brings comfort to the broken-hearted, and instills reliance on Allah's supreme power. It reminds us that Allah is the ultimate source of strength and compels justice in all matters.
